I believe Pitt has enough available land or at least

earmarked land for an on campus stadium (if it ever decided to build one).

However, I don't believe Miami has that same luxury. Based on the campus maps I have seen, it doesn't appear that Miami has any vacant land large enough for a football stadium and everything else that would be associated with the stadium. The land around the campus appears to be just about completely developed, so the school may not be able to buy enough land to build a new stadium. Also, it could significantly increase the cost to the build the new stadium when factoring in demolition costs. Like UCLA, I believe Miami is stuck with the reality that all home football games will need to be played in an off campus stadium that is probably located in another city. Unfortunately for Miami, it doesn't have much of say on how far away the stadium is located from campus because that part of Florida has marshy undeveloped land (some protected and some not protected) and the usable land has pretty much been developed.
